Your Community-Based Mentoring Needs!

Areas of Development

education

Education is one of the core values at EXPOSURE, INC. We focus on helping mentees overcome challenges that influence their success. By connecting with both school and community resources, we are committed to assisting mentees with setting goals and taking steps to ensure graduation. We advocate for pursuing higher education and/or vocational training.

animal-assisted therapy

Animal-assisted therapy is a type of therapy used to help individuals socially, emotionally, and cognitively. With visits to animal shelters and pet stores, we hope to assist young people in developing coping skills in a variety of ways.

transportation

Only as deemed appropriate, mentors assists with transportation to job interviews, appointments, and other meetings as agreed upon by the mentee and parent or guardian. We are willing to help however we can!

networking

At the heart and soul of our organization is the success of each mentee. We connect mentees with professionals from a variety of fields. Mentors help mentees with building an "elevator speech" along with other networking skills. We believe it is important to not only have a wealth of knowledge to apply, but to also know a wealth of individuals.

social outings

Mentors teach mentees how to conduct themselves in public while also focusing on having fun. Taking trips to the mall and attending sporting events are a few of the ways mentors like to have a good time!

workshops, Seminars, Conferences

We want to expose youth to as many opportunities possible. Whether in the form of attending workshops, seminars, or conferences, we expose youth to multiple opportunities for development.

job placement skills

With the building blocks of education and networking, we engage mentees in job-readiness skills. We believe young people gain transferable skills through the workplace. Our mentors conduct mock interviews, help mentees fill out job applications, and provide them with examples of the appropriate attire necessary for interviews and much more.

The arts & sports

Having a love for “The Arts” and sports, Coach Cortney sees each as a means to development. Sports and engaging in the arts teach lessons of building trust, perseverance and resilience. Engaging mentees in sports-related activities assists with physical development as well as the other dimensions of wellness.

relationship building

Last but not least, what is a mentor to a mentee if there is no relationship? Mentors model positive techniques for building trust with others. Mentors coach mentees on relationships with self and others. Mentors recognize the difficulty of building trust, and thus display patience with mentees and provides professional mentoring services no matter what.
